In the Spring Term of 2022, LifeWatch ERIC is funding a three-month exchange abroad for three students of the e-Biodiversity and Ecosystem Sciences Master’s degree (EBES), which it hosts with the University of Salento. The students are carrying out an internship at the Ionian University in Corfu, where they will apply the skills they have developed during their degree.

The Internal Joint Initiative (IJI), LifeWatch ERIC’s flagship project, was instigated in 2019 to build the next generation of Virtual Research Environments (VREs), based around Non-indigenous Invasive Species (NIS). Informaticians at the ICT-Core in Spain and the Service Centre in Italy have worked extensively with scientists from biodiversity and ecosystem communities across Europe to develop new platforms and tools that those researchers require to take their investigations to the next level.
